Sell Your Student Care Centre in Singapore

Edugrow sells student care centres confidentially to vetted operators and investors, and your centre is marketed under an anonymous code until a buyer has signed an NDA. Student care is not licensed like childcare, but a centre that administers SCFA must give MSF and parents at least 3 months' notice of a change in management, and the new operator must register with MSF itself. Edugrow has advised on 70+ education business transactions in Singapore since 2014.

Buyers pay most for a student care centre that stays well filled from nearby primary schools or its own childcare classes, with stable staff and a lease that has time left. We help you show that clearly, price the centre on the profit a buyer will accept, plan the MSF and SCFA steps into the timetable, and run the sale without unsettling your parents or staff.

What buyers look for

  • Steady enrolment from nearby primary schools or the centre's own childcare classes
  • Staff who stay, with the centre not depending on the owner day to day
  • A lease with enough time left to give the buyer a run at the business
  • Where relevant, a school-based contract that can pass to the new operator
  • For SCFA centres, clean records and a clear plan for the SCFA switch-over date
  • Deposits, outstanding fees and refunds owed to parents settled or clearly recorded

    Confidential first conversation

We learn how the centre runs, why you are thinking of selling and what matters to you beyond the price. Free, and nothing is shared without your consent.

  2. 2

    Written valuation

We rebuild your profit the way a buyer will, look at enrolment, staffing and the lease, and set an asking price buyers will support.

  6. 6

    Due diligence to completion

We manage the buyer's questions, the Sale and Purchase Agreement, the MSF notice and SCFA registration timetable, landlord matters, and the handover of children, staff and parents.

Guides for student care centre owners

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a licence to sell or run a student care centre?

No licence is required. MSF has said that all school-based student care centres are registered with it, and that other centres must register only if they administer the Student Care Fee Assistance (SCFA) scheme. All centres must still comply with the law, including the Children and Young Persons Act.

What happens to SCFA when my centre changes hands?

It does not pass across automatically. An SCFA centre must give MSF and parents at least 3 months' advance notice of a change in management. The incoming operator must register with MSF as an SCFA Administrator itself, with a written agreement with the outgoing operator on the date SCFA payments switch over. We build this into the timetable from the start.

Who settles deposits and refunds owed to parents?

MSF's guidance for SCFA centres is that the outgoing operator must settle fee-related matters, such as deposits, outstanding fees and refunds, with parents before the handover. Between buyer and seller, the Sale and Purchase Agreement should say how deposits and fees paid in advance are credited at completion.

What is my student care centre worth?

Profitable centres are usually priced on maintainable profit multiplied by a multiple. The multiple depends on how full and stable the centre is, how much it depends on you, and the lease. A written valuation sets out where your centre sits and why.

How do your fees work?

Edugrow charges a success fee on the sale, with no retainer. A written valuation is a fixed fee, credited in full against the success fee if you sign with us within 6 months. The first conversation and a written recommendation are free.
